History of Music videos + Thriller influence

-MTV was one of the key factors into the dominance of the Music video
-The first ever video was Video Killed The Radio Star by The Buggles
-As MTV was broad casted 24:7 music videos were required to be made
- A lot of controversies surrounded music videos as many thought it was a new era for pop music , however some belived it took away the importance of the artists voice and forces you to concentrate on their looks





Michael Jackson's music videos were seen as a revolution for music videos as videos such as Thriller began to become mini movies. Thriller included a lot of intertextual references to horror films and used a lot of homage and pastiche elements of other films and combinding it with his music and dancing to create a feature film music video.



Thriller was a 14 minute music video released in 1983. It was voted most influential music video of all time.
